When you remove this seal, you can check the thickness of the brake pads / brakeliners from the rear side of the brakedrum
Each Wheel came with three of these seals from the factory, After 40 years of being in the elements, most of these seals are broken or gone..
Its important to keep these seals on your brake backplates, so a minimum of dirt can enter the Brakedrum.
